It is organized by Primetime Limited and sponsored by the Ghana Education Service in partnership with Goil PLC and supported by A.T, Prudential Life Insurance Ghana, and Pepsodent.

The competition is divided into three stages: the preliminary stage, the quarter-final stage, and the semi-final stage. The top three schools from the semi-final stage qualify for the grand finale.

The 2023 NSMQ Grand Finale will be a five-round competition.

  1. Round 1: General Questions This round consists of a variety of general science and maths questions covering a wide range of topics.

  2. Round 2: Pepsodent Speed Race This round is a timed round where the schools compete to answer as many questions as possible in a short period of time. The questions are more challenging than in Round 1, and the clock is ticking, so this round is a real test of speed and knowledge.

  3. Round 3: Problem of the Day This round features a more challenging problem that requires the schools to work together to solve. The problem is typically related to a real-world application of science or maths.

  4. Round 4: True/False This round consists of a series of true or false statements related to science and maths. The schools must choose whether each statement is true or false, and they are penalized for any incorrect answers.

  5. Round 5: Riddle This round features a riddle that is related to science or maths. The schools must work together to solve the riddle, and they are awarded points for each correct answer.

The NSMQ is a very challenging competition, and the five rounds are designed to test the students’ knowledge of science and maths, as well as their problem-solving and teamwork skills.
