5 Key Exam Rules Students Always Forget

Below Are Additional Useful Information From WAEC to Candidates

1. Both Papers (2 & 1) for each Subject are to be taken at one sitting without break.

This means that once candidates start the paper two, there will not be any break. Candidates must be able to solve the required number of questions within the period of time provided for the exam or specific subjects.

2. Numbering of Answers

Candidates are advised to always number their answers properly. The numbering must correspond with the question’s number. For example, if you are answering Q1 (c), write Q1(c) boldly before you start answering. This ensures that the examiner knows which question to match your answers against.

3. Do not provide lazy answers.

Lazy answers are one to 8 worded answers written by students when the examiner actually wants a well explained answer. Such lazy answers will lead to failure. Avoid being lazy when seeking to pass the BECE. Students often make this big mistake when answering Social Studies, RME and English Comprehension questions.

4.Read over your work

Candidates must also read through their answers. This helps to identify, spelling, grammatical errors and incomplete answers. Once you detect these, you can correct them. This will go along way to help you score better marks and avoid being punished by the examiner.

5. Write the Question Numbers Answered

After answering each questions, do well to write the question number boldly at the bottom rectangular space provide. Do well not to write in the margins as well of the answer booklet.
