Even though the majority of schools are built by the government and very few by private institutions, some stand out among them due to their infrastructure.
The criteria used to determine which schools are the most beautiful in Ghana are therefore based on two main factors: the infrastructure that each school has and how well its surroundings are maintained to showcase how lovely they are.
A school with a lot of infrastructure will not only be the most attractive, but will also be the best maintained over time.
Here are Ghana’s top 10 most stunning senior high schools.
10. PREMPEH COLLEGE
One of Ghana’s most stunning senior high schools is Prempeh College. It is situated in the Ashanti Region’s Kumasi at Sofoline. The school’s entrance is extraordinary and breath-taking.
It is ranked tenth and has gorgeous infrastructure. Motto of the school is “Suban me Nimde3”. The colours of the school are green and yellow.
9. KETA SENIOR HIGH TECHNICAL SCHOOL
It is a public senior high school in Dzelukope that is mixed-gender. It is unique to the Volta region and has a very refreshing atmosphere. “Dzolali” is the school’s motto, and the mascot is an eagle.
8. OPOKU WARE SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL
The Ashanti Region’s Kumasi is home to Opoku Ware Senior High School. It is an all-boys school that opened its doors in 1952. One of the most beautiful schools in Ghana, their motto is “Deux Lux Scienticie”.
7. ACCRA ACADEMY
The first private academy to open on the Gold Coast was Accra Academy. It can be found in Accra at Bubuashie, close to Kaneshie.
Additionally, it has an excellent boarding facility for students as well as a very lovely and peaceful learning environment. The school has “Esse Quam Videri” as its motto.
6. ADISADEL COLLEGE
Adisadel College is ranked sixth among Ghana’s top 10 most attractive schools. It is referred to as “Adisco” and is an all-boys institution. It is situated in Ghana’s Central Region at Cape Coast. The school has “Vel Primus Vel Cum Primus” as its motto.
5. HOLY CHILD SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL
Holy Child Senior High School, also known as Angel’s Hill, is a second-cycle female school located in Cape Coast, Ghana’s Central region.
It ranks fifth and is one of the schools that meet the criteria for the most beautiful schools in Ghana.”Facta Non Verba”—which translates to “Action not words”—is the school’s motto.
4. PRESBYTERIAN BOYS’ SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL
Presec-Legon, as it is affectionately referred to by everyone, is one of Ghana’s best and most stunning schools. It is a school in Accra that is exclusively for boys.
It was established in 1938 with the support of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana, then on the Gold Coast.”In Lumine Tuo Vide Limus” is the school’s motto. Blue is the colour of the school.
3. ST. LOUIS SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL
One of Ghana’s most stunning schools is St. Louis Senior High School.
The Ashanti Region’s Kumasi is home to this all-female institution of higher learning. It began in 1952 with a group of 12 girls and was named the third most attractive SHS in Ghana. “UT-SINT-UNUM DIEU VEULT” is the school’s motto. Its colours are white and emerald green.
2. ACHIMOTA SCHOOL
In terms of Ghana’s most attractive schools, Achimota School comes in second. In Accra’s Achimota neighbourhood, there is a coed boarding school called Achimota. Sir Frederick Gordon Guggisberg officially inaugurated the school in 1927.
“Ut Omnes Unum Sint” is the school’s motto. The school is decorated in black and white, and it has a stunning school entrance as well as a very tidy and tasteful setting that speaks of history and adds more flavour to the overall impression of the building.
1. WESLEY GIRLS’ HIGH SCHOOL
Wesley Girls’ Senior High School is ranked as one of the top 10 most attractive schools in Ghana because it meets all of the standards for excellence in terms of its infrastructure and how well it is maintained over time.
The institution was established in 1836 and is named for Rev. John Wesley, the father of Methodism.
“Live Pure, Speak True, Right Wrong, Follow the King” is the school’s motto.
They have a lovely compound that is decorated with vibrant flowers and lush grass, which really adds character to the school.
