Return WASSCE ‘Pasco’ or forfeit 2023 WASSCE Results – MoE to Students

Final-year students preparing for the 2023 WASSCE have been advised to return to WASSCE  “Pasco” booklets issued to them or forfeit their 2023 WASSCE Results.

This call comes as students get ready for the WAEC-administered exam scheduled to start on 31st August.

The call was made by Deputy Minister for Education, Ntim Fordjour while responding to questions in a radio interview on Kumasi-based Hello 104.5 FM.

The government produced the Pasco booklets some two years ago as part of efforts to resource learners who are preparing for the WASSCE for school candidates.

According to him, some students in the past failed to return the booklets but, the Ministry of Education will ensure that the results of all 2023 WASSCE candidates who fail to return the booklets are blocked until further notice.

Such students will not get the needed clearance for their results when WAEC releases it. This is part of the MoE’s strategy to ensure the booklets are not stolen by students.

The Deputy Minister for Education, Ntim Fordjour furthered that, “Unlike some time they took the WASSCE past questions away, this time we want them to return their copies after they have sat for the examination, next batch of Free SHS students will also benefit from them,”

All second-cycle schools supplied with these booklets have been tasked to ensure students return the past questions booklet (PASCO) when they are done writing the 2023 WASSCE for school candidates.

The Deputy Minister furthered that “We have tasked heads of schools to make sure the government property is returned after the exams, candidates who fail to return the booklets would not be given clearance to receive their respective schools’ results,”

As part of efforts to reduce the cost of producing these booklets, the MoE has plans to create mobile apps or websites that have these questions and marking schemes uploaded on them so that candidates and the general public can access them.

“So moving forward, we are considering creating an app or a website for the students to access the WAEC past questions at their own comfortable time ahead of the WASSCE for School examination,” Mr John Fordjour noted.

“We are not going to print them each year, we have installed internet in all Senior High Schools, so going forward we are planning to create a past questions website or app for students to access the questions,” the Reverend Minister said.
