All is set for the release of the 2023 BECE results. The latest to comment on the date for the release of the results is Mr. Kofi Asare, the EduWatch Director.
2023 provisional BECE results date projected by Africa Education Watch
According to Mr. Asare, the Africa Education Watch Director, the provisional BECE results of Junior High School students will be released within two weeks. He made the comment in the first week of November 2023.
The update from Mr. Asare backs the information that Education Blog had previously published from a deep-throat source. Per the information available on the Education Blog, the BECE results are expected to be released between November 10 and 18, 2023.
- School and private candidates receive their results online on the WAEC website.
- Candidates who have passed the BECE are placed in Senior High Schools (SHSs) through the Computerized School Selection and Placement System (CSSPS).
- The CSSPS places candidates in SHSs based on their BECE results, raw scores, and preferences. Candidates are placed in SHSs that they have selected and that have vacancies.
- Candidates who are not placed in any SHS through the CSSPS can use the self-placement portal or appeal to the GES. Candidates can also apply to SHSs privately, but this is usually more expensive.
- Candidates who are placed in SHSs report to their schools to register and begin their studies. The academic year for SHS1 students starts on December 4th, 2023.
Candidates can check their BECE results online. To do this, the candidates need to enter their index numbers and other personal details on the WAEC website, along with their result checker details.
SHS selection
Candidates who have passed the BECE can select their preferred SHSs. The SHS selection process is usually done online through the Computerised School Selection and Placement System (CSSPS). The CSSPS takes into account the candidate’s BECE results, their preferences, and the vacancies available at each SHS.
CSSPS placement
The CSSPS places candidates in SHSs based on their BECE results and their preferences. Candidates are placed in SHSs that they have selected and that have vacancies. Candidates are notified of their placement through the CSSPS website or through a text message.
Reporting to school
SHS1 students will report to school on December 4th, 2024.
